Stanley Edwin Doughty

Stanley was born on July 22, 1929, in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. He joined the Roayl Navy on August 13, 1947, with the service number SKX 835011. His first training was at HMS Excalibur, a shore base which was near Crewe in Cheshire. He would later serve on Independence, Wizard, Victory, Alunia, Bellerophon, and from February 22, 1949 to July 13, 1952 on HMS Gambia as a stoker/mechanic. He left the navy on August 12, 1954, after 7 years of service. Stanley died in 2003.
