Kenneth King Meiklejohn

On the outbreak of the Second World War, Kenneth Meikeljohn, a member of the Otago Division of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, was mobilised for duty on October 12, 1939 in the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy. He was sent for training in the United Kingdom in May 1940 and was part of the crew that brought HMNZS Tui to New Zealand in 1942. He spent most of the war ashore in the establishment Philomel, apart from a brief period of service in the cruiser Gambia. He was discharged on December 21, 1945
