Rex Nelson Williamson
Rex was born on June 30, 1917 at Marton, Rangitikei, New Zealand.
Rex joined the navy when he was 19 on October 21, 1936 and given the service number NZ1438. He was 5 foot 9.5 inches tall, with light brown hair and green eyes.
Rex was a stoker 2nd class and served on HMS Philomel, Cerberus, HMS Achilles, HMNZS Gambia, and HMS Drake. For his service he was awarded the 1939-1945 Star, Pacific Star, Defence Medal, War Medal 1939-1945, and the New Zealand War Service Medal.
Rex left the service on October 21, 1948. He passed away in 2004.
