Unfortunately not much is known about Leonard. He was a Shipwrght 4th Class with the service number 4515. He was on HMS Gambia at Scapa Flow, Orkney Islands and was listed as missing presumed killed on November 6, 1943, aged just 25. It is presumed that Leonard drowned.
HMS Gambia was being "worked up" at Scapa Flow as part of 1st Cruiser Squadron from October 20, 1943 until December 1. She departed Scapa Flow for Plymouth, England on December 3.
